One could pick many topics to try and describe a woman. The Bible has many to choose from, as well. We have the curios wife Eve, the discarded wife Hagar, the ambitious woman, Mirian, and Ruth, the woman of constancy. There is Agibail, the capable woman, Esther, the self-sacrificing woman, Elizabeth, the humble woman, the Shunammite, the hospitable woman, and the list goes on. But the one woman I wish to leave in your mind today is Hannah.
Why Hannah? This is because, to me, she best describes the ideal Godly woman. She was a praying woman. When she could not conceive, she prayed. She prayed and wept so until Eli said to her, "How long wilt thou be drunken?" Hannah answered and said, "No, My Lord. I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord." Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of Him." She wept for many days, but when the man of God said, "May the Lord grant thee thy petition," she wept no more. Not only was she prayerful, but she also had faith in the man of God. Her prayer was to have a son, and afterward God granted her petition. Unlike mothers of today who, after being blessed with a child, ask God to bless them to grow up and be a great ball player, a great lawyer, or doctor, she gave her son to the Lord for the rest of his life.
Dear hearts, give your child(ren) over to God. Let God be the center of their lives and He will direct their paths. With God in their lives, they can be and do ALL things. Only God can prepare your child for tomorrow because only God knows what is in store for tomorrow.
