The History of the OSP:

A sister is someone more special than words.
She's love mixed with friendship; the best things in life.
She's so much inner beauty blended together with an outward appearance
that brings a smile to the happiness in your heart...

Together, you have shared some of the most special moments two people have ever shared.
A sister is a perspective on the past, and she's a million favorite memories
that will always last.
A sister is a photograph that is one of your most treasured possessions.
She's a note that arrives on a special day, and when there's news to share,
she's the first one you want to call.
A sister is a reminder of the blessings that come from closeness.
Sharing secrets. Disclosing dreams. Learning about life together.

What is a sister?
She's someone more special than words; someone beautiful and unique.
And in so many ways, there is no one who is loved so dearly.

-Douglas Pagels

The vision of the OSP was given to Prophetess Marye A. Croskey in November 1991. Prophetess Croskey had a burden for broken and tired women, women who had experienced emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual hurts. So, to deal effectively and personally with those hurts, she began to seek God in prayer for an answer. She came to the conclusion that, in order to reach these women, she would have to give of herself and her resources to meet their desperate needs of peace and healing. Out of much prayer and thought came the vision, instructions, and plans for the Overnight Slumber Party (OSP).

The instructions were to create a warm, comfortable, and cozy environment for these women to be ministered to with food, song, games, worship, words of wisdom, and lots of Godly counsel and prayer. So, for three days in November every year, Prophetess Croskey opens her home and gives of herself to minister physical, emotional, and spiritual wholesomeness to each and every woman that attends.

The OSP's have been very successful in that many women have come and found the answers to questions they had been searching for. Some have come so very burdened and left with those burdens lifted. Some have come with questions and doubts about their relationships with God and left with a rededicated life to Christ. Some have come just to get away from the typical "woman's roles" of always being the giver. So instead, for the duration of this event they become the lavished and the recipients..."the GIVEN."
